A Sex Difference in Linkage Intensity of Three Autosomal Factors in the Domestic Pigeon.

چکیده
URING a study of color inheritance in the domestic pigeon three D autosomal factors have been found to be linked. In a preliminary report (HOLLANDER 1936) certain statements were made which must be modified in the light of additional data. Previous authors have failed to demonstrate any autosomal linkages in the pigeon. CHRISTIE and WRIEDT (1923) attempted to show a linkage between white-tail and saddle or shield pattern, but the characters were not proved simple and the numbers were too small for significance. Crossing-over between sex-linked factors has been reported by COLE and KELLEY (I 91 9), CHRISTIE and WRIEDT (I 92 5) , STEELE (193 I) , and HAWK-

MOLECULAR STUDY OF PKD1 & PKD2 GENES BY LINKAGE ANALYSIS AND DETERMINING THE GENOTYPE/PHENOTYPE CORRELATIONS IN SEVERAL IRANIAN FAMILIES WITH AUTOSOMAL DOMINANT POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE
ABSTRACT Background: Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is an inherited disorder with genetic heterogeneity. Up to three loci are involved in this disease, PKDI on chromosome 16p13.3, PKD2 on 4q21, and a third locus of unknown location. Methods: Here we report the first molecular genetic study of ADPKD and the existence oflocus heterogeneity for ADPKD in the Iranian populatio...
متن کاملMacroeconomic, International Linkage and Effects of External Shocks in Southeast Asian Emerging Economies
This study is an attempt to examine the effects of external shocks on macroeconomic variables in selective small open emerging economies in Southeast Asia. A quarterly Global Vector Autoregressive (GVAR) model, including 33 countries, was used throughout 1979–2013. The empirical results showed that the target countries were affected by external shocks, especially the shocks in the U.S, Euro are...
متن کاملInvestigating Seven Recently Identified Genes in 100 Iranian Families with Autosomal Recessive Non-syndromic Hearing Loss
Objectives: Hearing loss (HL) is the most common sensory disorder, and affects 1 in 1000 newborns. About 50% of HL is due to genetics and 70% of them are non-syndromic with a recessive pattern of inheritance. Up to now, more than 50 genes have been detected which are responsible for autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss, (ARNSHL). In Iran, HL is one of the most common disabilitie...
متن کاملScreening of DFNB3 in Iranian families with autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss reveals a novel pathogenic mutation in the MyTh4 domain of the MYO15A gene in a linked family
Objective(s): Non-syndromic sensorineural hearing loss (NSHL) is a common disorder affecting approximately 1 in 500 newborns. This type of hearing loss is extremely heterogeneous and includes over 100 loci. Mutations in the GJB2 gene have been implicated in about half of autosomal recessive NSHL (ARNSHL) cases, making this the most common cause of ARNSHL. For the latter form of deafness, most f...
متن کاملGenetic Heterogeneity of PKD1 and PKD2 Genes in Iran and Determination of the Genotype/Phenotype Correlations in Several Families with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is the most common genetic nephropathy, which is characterized by replacement of renal parenchyma with multiple cysts. In Iran, the disease prevalence within the chronic hemodialysis patient population is approximately 8-10%. So far, three genetic loci have been identified to be responsible for ADPKD. Little information is available concernin...
